Redesign of the “Paulineraula”, University of Leipzig

The “Paulineraula” is a symbol for the historical center of the University of Leipzig. It’s a place of identity and memory and the main facade defines the image of the University.The design shows that the assembly hall is both integrated and independent part of a superior entity. The exterior skin of the University becomes the interior skin of the assembly hall.
Both buildings express a contentual unity in a never ending dialog between past and future.
